The New Music Agency has had the good fortune to be chosen to perform on the first season of a new performance series by the Lied Center:  Free at 6.  This series of free concerts features local singers, dancers and musicians.  The Lied Center people can give you more information about these upcoming programs.  Our 45 minute program will consist of the following works:

Daniel Dorff:  "Hustle Misterioso" from In a Deep Funk for Unaccompanied Contrabassoon (1997)
A groovy little work, and the first piece ever performed on a New Music Agency concert.

Rusty Banks: Long Pine Creek: New Year's Day for Flute, Clarinet, Guitar and Electronics (2003)
Boom Boxes as "Poor Boy Surround Sound".  Sounds of nature integrated with electronics and live musicians.  
Composed by one of the Agency's resident composers.


Neil Corwell:  Night Song for Euphonium and Taped Synthesizer (1989) 
A
  brass musician's fascination for both synthesizers and composition leads to this tonal work.  
Corwell, a former member of Pershing's Own, The US Army Band.


George Crumb: "Fantasia. Andante espressivo e con molto rubato" from Sonata for Cello (1955)
A classic work from one of the 20th Century's American music's living legends.

Tristan Fuentes: Conditor alme siderum for Live Musicians and Tape (2004). 
This piece had its world premiere last month, and it's quite lovely.  Composed by another of the Agency's resident composers.
